Croup Anyone?

Well, after another fun-filled night with sick Evan last night, we were at the doc today and yup...it's Croup....AGAIN....give me a break....somebody please....So, they gave him a dose of decadron (not sure about that spelling), but it opens up his throat and last time he had it, it worked wonders with taking away that "barking" cough.....So, say a prayer that Evan gets rid of this and we all can stay healthy for baby #2 to arrive any time!

36 Weeks and Counting

Sorry for the lapse in updating!

Things seems to be ship-shape around our house again...i think everyone is all better from the sickies!

the only lame-o is me! I'm 36 weeks pregnant today.... i'm really trying to remind myself that i am very lucky and blessed and glass is half full, but i am having a hard time....i have no "ummmph"...I'm exhausted to the point of sick to my stomach most nights...I am a lump on a bump..I struggle to make it through the work day and then feel like I have nothing to give to my poor hubby or my son....I really need to suck it up, but I just am not feeling like myself....I don't remember feeling this crappy at this point with Evan, but then again, I took naps EVERY day after work and didn't have an Evan to worry about at that time....I don't know....Then, I'm reminded of my grandma 'Gram', who was on her roof, shingling, at 9 months pregnant....that's how I should be! That's the superhero I should feel like....it must be in my genetics somewhere......and yet, not so much.

In any case, poor Adam listens to me whine daily/nightly...Evan has to hear, "mommy's tired...or mommy can't, she has a baby in her belly"....so, say a little prayer that I might be more appreciative of all I do have in my life! AND, don't get me wrong, I'm excited for the newest addition and I know how blessed we are to have had a problem-free pregnancy, I just feel like I don't have the pep in my step I need.....

So, say a prayer, if not for me, for Adam and Evan, for patience to make it through these last few weeks with a dud of a wife/momma......

Please say a little prayer for Evan, who has been so sick and is just not bouncing back like he usually does......We're not sure what's going on, say a little prayer that he gets healthy and we all get some sleep soon. Thanks, ya'll. Have a Happy Weekend!

Catch Up

is not happening fully yet....but it will, I swear! I know I need to start at Christmas and move forward, I've just had a serious case of lazy/tired-itis..........

Without pics, I can tell you we had a good Christmas/New Year.....I was sick through Christmas, but it was still fun to have my parents come for a couple days...Evan LOVES having them stay at our house! We had a nice family dinner with Adam's family too....

New Year's Eve/Day was so great...Adam took me on a little getaway to Ellis Lake to stay in a cozy cabin, kid-free, for a couple days! Thank you to Grandma J(and Grandpa too) who generously agreed to ring in the New Year with a 3 year old! It was so relaxing and great to spend time with my hubby.

Aside from that, I'm getting more and more pregnant every day.....I'll be 34 weeks this Friday and I'm feeling every ounce of it....I'm tired and seem to have not a whole lot of patience these days...I know that's going to be the biggest challenge for me when #2 comes along...patience! I am praying daily for more of it! :)

Anyway, I'll post some Christmas pics soon....hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year!

Oh, and this weekend the Scripps will be coming to stay with us to help celebrate my 31st BDay! Oh my goodness......31........BRING IT.

Big Momma's House

Soooo, we've been doing a lot of work around the house to try to get ready for baby boy number 2...by 'we' I mean everyone but me...First Grandma and Grandpa had a man come in to strip wallpaper, fix and prime walls for painting upstairs...Since then Adam and the in-laws have been working their tushies off!

I've been doing what I can, but I'm definitely limited with what I can help with....Paranoid Grandma J and Auntie Robin won't let me paint, for fear of the fumes..I love you both..and I can't move heavy stuff, for obvious reasons....so, Evan and I hang out...I do what I can, which has been enough to get sore (moving books/toys/cleaning)...ANYWAY, Evan's room is pretty much done, with most of his stuff back in there, but not done enough for a picture....our room is getting closer too...some beige-y walls, with a couple that are a color called Copper Mountain....Jill, you remember our living room in our old house right?? That color....The baby's room isn't painted yet, but we're making lots of progress.....

Thank you to my great family...always there when you need them and they work so hard....we'd never get all this done without them....just a little more to go!!!!!!

Silly (soon to be Evan's Uncle) Paul working on Evan's room.....Silly Uncle Paul even came on Wednesday to watch Evan while Grandma was busy....he's so great with Evan and we just love this guy!!

ON ANOTHER NOTE.....Adam got half his Christmas present on Friday.....he'd been talking about a live Maine lobster forever, and so I caved and ordered one Jumbo Dude for him! It came Friday and Adam boiled it up and even shared a little...that was the most delicious lobster EVER!! Okay, so it was only the second time I've eaten it, but yummy!!!! The best part was that Adam was actually surprised!! Not only am I a notoriously bad gift-giver, but he's a notorious SNOOP. So, I was so, so excited to see how excited Adam was!! He refuses to let me take his picture, so he got this one of me getting ready to chow!

Well, it's almost Christmas and my parents will be here Tuesday to help us celebrate...I'm so excited to have them here and for Evan on Christmas day! I hope all of you have a very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy start to the new year! Adam and I will be ringing it in kid-free in a cozy cabin in the snow in Interlochen....the last getaway for, well a long, long time! :)
